My daughter and her friends have been doing that on their finals.

Someone on my friends' page is grading APs and she's been keeping track. Not a huge amount, but certainly a noticable few.

I think it would have been a lot funnier if the message had been something like, "I BOW BEFORE KODOS" or "National No Underwear Day is June 20."

I guess I'm finally going to have to rent/watch 300 to keep up with the latest pop culture fads...

(I'm getting too old for this internet 2.0 stuff...)

This is Sparta!
I grade AP Environmental Science exams. Have done so for three years running. I noticed quite an uptick in this phenomenon this year. I gather that it is a gag from a film that is a few years old.

This is so funny!
LoL,

"In the Chief Reader’s last day speech, he encouraged 1100 teachers to grade the remaining hundred thousand essays by pumping his fist and shouting, “This is Sparta!”

We cheered and cheered, and went to our tables that final day to grade the remaining tests."

I am imagining an humourless serious teacher doing this... lol! one that you would never expect to be trifling or jesting and is always anxious when students prank him or say something out of context!
